Report: Google is working on a true iPhone competitor

There are two types of high-end smartphones, iPhone, and the others. This statement is true to this date. What makes an iPhone different from the competitors is the hardware and software integration. Apple nails the process of integrating its iOS with the hardware components of an iPhone. Which helps the device to run smooth for the longer period time, Android phones, on the other hand, are proven to get slow by time.

There are many great Android flagship phones available in the market but they all lack the proper integration. Last year Google decided to directly enter the smartphone market by launching first ever made by Google phones, Pixel and the Pixel XL. Both smartphones got tons of positive responses from the community and some even called it the iPhone killer. But at the end of the day, Google is a software company, if they want to truly compete with Apple they have to build and assemble their own hardware. And that’s exactly what Google is working on right now.

Google has recently hired Manu Gulati as a lead SoC architect. Gulati is an ex-Apple employee who has 8 years of working experience on custom Apple chips. This shows there are some big changes coming for to the future Pixel smartphone. Recently it is also reported that Google is investing around $880 million in LG’s display division. This suggests Google is getting really serious about building a true made by Google smartphone, a worthy iPhone competitor.

Stay tuned for the updates.
