Plugging in a hardware cable to charge your high-end smartphone seems like an outdated thing to do in 2017. Many Android smartphone manufacturers have adopted to some sort of wireless charging standards and if the reports are true then Apple will also be joining them soon.
Apple has recently started manufacturing iPhones in India to reduce the overall cost. Wistron is a manufacturer which is currently assembling iPhone SE for the Indian consumers. In a recent interview Wistron’s CEO, Robert Hwang accidentally leaked a new feature of the upcoming iPhones. Mr. Hwang was addressing the complexities in manufacturing due to new features like “Waterproof and Wireless Charging.”
With iPhone being waterproof he is probably referring to the iPhone 7’s water resistance body. But the mentioning of wireless charging is what caught everyone’s attention. Recently, OnLeaks also shared an alleged photo of the upcoming iPhone’s chassis showing something similar to an inductive charge pad. We will no more details once Apple launches the new iPhone.
Stay tuned for the updates.
