A recent Microsoft support article revealed the Paint.exe will not be a part of upcoming Windows 10 creators update. Later the news took the internet by storm and everyone started to panic about the fact that Microsoft is going to kill their beloved Paint application.
This whole thing happened because of the confusing release notes which marked paint as deprecated app for Windows 10 fall creators update. What Microsoft wanted to say is the Paint application won’t be developed further. Microsoft later realised their mistake and updated the article saying Paint will now be available in the Windows Store as a free application.
“Today, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support and nostalgia around MS Paint. If there’s anything we learned, it’s that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans. It’s been amazing to see so much love for our trusty old app. Amidst today’s commentary around MS Paint we wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight, clear up some confusion and share some good news”, reads the announcement.
Rejoice, your favourite paint application isn’t going anywhere yet. Stay tuned for the updates.
